Interesting. I tried using the AKU 2.x first but it would not go into the device, all looked OK at first and I did get the splash screen telling me that it was going to go from Versions blah blah blah (technical term there) to Versions yadda yadda yadda (highly technical term) but then connection to the phone would be lost.
One other detail as well. This unit was a replacement (refurbished I believe) from Asurion and I did notice that when it booted up there was a different Windows Mobile splash screen than my previous XV6700. This one has a line "Direct Push Technology" that the other did not. Perhaps there is something newer (extROM) in there that caused this. That is a SWAG on my part as I am very new to this stuff.
Anyway, this unit is on its way back because the joystick is a bit frelled, the slightest tough on it in any direction results in an Activate Key click and there is no distinct click felt when pushing in on the stick (basically the joystick is unuseable.) Since this was the second call on this claim and they have no new 6700's to send me I will be getting a XV6800 as a replacement. I am not quite sure how I feel about that yet though as there seems to be much more stuff out here for the XV6700 than for the XV6800 but time will tell.
Thanks for the feedback and hoping I can get better with this dren and be more of a contributor in the future. It is a bit overwhelming at first.
