i think if you tap on the right half of the task bar (i think the left side opens arkswitch), a larger view of the task bar is displayed, where you can tap the notification icon and view it.

i haven't had any problems with arkswitch so far. my only problem is that i can't create appointments or change appointments from the manila calendar tab.
