My friends are running Android 2.1 (like most everyone else with a G1 is). Yes, it shipped with the first Android, but it now runs Android 2.1 just like your Nexus One.
And I am comparing it to that one to demonstrate the exact same thing you are- older hardware runs slower than faster hardware. You are acting like the OS is the only reason why your Nexus One is faster than your Touch Pro 2. So I am pointing out that the same Touch Pro 2, running that same OS, is a lot faster than a G1 running Android 2.1.
Yes, WinMo 7 is coming. That doesn't mean WinMo 6.5 is horrible.
