Re: Fix/Workaround for 2016 Issue
It appears that Telus has finally posted an official fix for this SMS issue on the HTC site:

I don't know what's different about this fix and the reg edit posted by Ziggy471.
According to the download description, it also fixes past 2016 dated texts.
One other thing, I'm not sure what they mean by:
"If any software was installed to bypass the Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) functionality of the device, the device may need to be hard reset prior to this hotfix being installed."
