if you were to extract the xip by hand you would find 2 different xip's. most commonly known is the xip2, where the kernel resides. as for the xip1, i dont know much about it, for some reason i think its to do with the aku updates somehow but dont quote me on that. as for the advantages, it save time by keeping ppl out of having to find and extract the xip by hand aka hex editor lookin for 320000 to 680000
ONE BUG i did find was the xipport buttion... it wants xipport to be with the .bin file and not xiptools, i will fix this shortly.. like sometime today
