Funny you state that. Last week, my girlfriend got a BB 8530. I actually think it looks quite nice, and works quite well. No EVDO on Sprint like my TP2, but... i'm sure the Tour 2 will be out soon, so who cares. Anyway, I was playing with her phone and mentioned tethering, and she goes.... HUH? I said you can connect your phone to your computer to browse the web. I tested out that program WMWifirouter and got it to work on my laptop and was browsing pretty nicely. I was like WOO HOO. Totally didn't even think about that option, and found it very nice. Even looked at my bill, and nothing changed. Only on for a few minutes, but it was fine.
Anyway, my girl still said...HUH.
I said let me put it in NON GEEK terms. You can use the data on your phone to get the internet on your computer when.... AND IT WENT OVER HER HEAD.
Anyway, I gave up, and the important thing was I knew what it was. She was also like... Dont you touch my phone cause you always seem to mess yours up changing and installing all sorts of stuff.
Only happened once when I installed that SRSWOW deal and it totally screwed the phone. I fixed it. But she never wants me to touch her phone.
I look at crackberry and all the cool stuff, and tell her she needs to get X app and try this and that, and she says... I LIKE MY PHONE THE WAY IT IS.
She plans on doing absolutely nothing with it but the normal txt, and surfing the web. BLOG WHAT? TWITTER WHAT? RSS WHAT? Yeah, not her. Probably e-mail and berry messenger and facebook, but that's about it.
If you work at a Best Buy and love all this stuff and have a girl with no idea, you know what I go through.
