I have both the 6800 and the treo 755 for just that reason. both of the phones are on shared minutes, so the treo only cost me 10.00 a month. i did this because I started out with the first 6600 when they first came out, and i got tired of the phone freezing on me, and this was long before i knew of ppcgeeks.com. so i've always had two phones, one for mainly talking, and the other for texting and everything else. this just really works better for me, because of the fact that the 6800 basically being a handheld computer, it tends to freeze whenever it's not enough memory or to many programs are open. but with the treo palms, it seems to me that only one program normally run at one time, which makes it a better, more dependable phone for talking. it's just to slow
for anything else besides talking. i definitely would not trade my 6800 for a treo palm. you would be better off doing like i did and adding a treo to your lline as a shared phone. since its just me using the two phones, it really doesn't matter if its on a shared plan. plus, if you add a treo, you can get it at the low new customer price.
