They held off on the mirrors so they would have one more "NEW" item to add to the new model window sticker thus making it look like a better car. Previous generaltions of Altimas had folding mirrors.

I think this is why they didn't include a flash and all the tech inside upgrades on the TP2 vs. TP1. This way they can market the TP3 with snapdragon and flash and we will all rush to buy yet another device.
