Sony sells more overseas because they don't market here at all. You didn't even know they made a version for the USA, lol. You're way more into this stuff than the average person, and you didn't even know the product existed. That right there should tell you why they don't sell many units here.

Now, HTC doesn't even offer a product here. Not only do they NOT market (just like Sony) but they won't even sell you one if you somehow find out about it.

So I think that has FAR more to do with the public not buying any than any ridiculous notion that they just aren't interested. Need I remind you that the Verizon Touch Pro 2 was sold out for over a month when it was first released and got excellent reviews (Consumer Reports said it was the best device- even better than an iPhone, for business use). And this was without ever seeing a single commercial for the thing.

Anyway, if you stop and look at this objectively it's pretty easy to see. You are somewhat of an expert (flashing ROMs, already know about the HD2 and the better specs the US version will have, and all sorts of other things the average joe wouldn't have a clue about). And yet you didn't even know you could buy an Sony Ericsson Xperia X1a right now (made specifically for Americans) on Sony's website. That right there should tell you why nobody is buying Windows Mobile devices here.

I can guarantee you- if nobody knew an iPhone existed, nobody would be buying those either.

And, again- HTC flat out won't even sell you an HD2 that works in North America even if you somehow find out it exists.
