I hate to say this but with how far gone the phone is I would suggest manually entering all of you personal contacts to your personal outlook. DO NO TAKE TO THE SPRINT STORE when they see the number of modifications they will try to copy the pim to storage card and when that does not work they are likely to hard reset it anyway and your contacts are gone. I work for sprint tech and of course have recieved several of these calls some get to the point the PIM file becomes totally corrupt and you loose all contacts, calandar, tasks, ect... start manually entering you contacts into outlook to be safe. ( or if you have a good friend or another phone you can try to bluetooth or beam the contacts to another phone) then as you already painfully understand, hard reset.
