Flashing a ROM refers to the ability to rewrite the burned in ROM that ships with the device. 'ROM' means read only memory. This means the files cannot be overwritten..... unless the HSPL is cracked. HSPL is the security that prevents the memory from being overwritten. If the HSPL is cracked, custom ROM's can be applied to the phone allowing endless possibilities for phone functionality and customization.
