On my previous WinMo phone I went 3rd-party (Pocket Informant) to get decent weekly and monthly calendar views. Pocket Informant also allowed a contacts filter to stay in place even after you closed the contacts app.

I'm in a new job now (where they got me my Imagio) and I have many fewer meetings and spend a lot more time at my desk than I did at my old employer so I've been living (so far successfully) with the HTC TF3D calendar. I'm also okay so far with Favorites instead of the permanent filter I used in Pocket Informant for my most common contacts.

If I needed to keep up with a complicated calendar I'd probably be looking at 3rd-party PIM replacements again.
