I see the same thing - I'm running the 23xxx 14Jan10 build. I've found that if I install the latest client (wl.windowsmobile.com), soft reset the device, then do the setup, it works. That's not 100% for me, but it greatly increases my odds of it working. If it doesn't work the first shot, I just soft reset, and try again. It's never taken me more than 3 soft resets to get it cooking OK. Once it's setup, I've never had an issue.
