I'm with Telus and have the same data plan. I've used
pdanet for a while without issues. I've also used the WiFi Router program that I cooked into a custom ROM and didn't incur additional charges either. Having said that, I didn't use the wifi router program much (it was more a case of firing it up, transferring some nominal amount of data and checking the data usage online the next day).
