I have no problem w the pre not having a software keyboard... I just don't like the small size of the keys on that slide out keyboard.

I stopped in and talked to sprint today... turns out the TP2 requires the newer data plans just like the pre, blackberries and other smartphones. I may have to go buy a diamond in case my TP dies. Sounds like I can keep my ultra-cheap legacy plan with that phone.
My friend had a Diamond, now she has an iPhone.

You can get tomtom for the pre. I have never had a real gps program other than telenav.
