Yes, that's putting the horse before the cart. So many posts here seem to start with the phone and then decide if it's any good for them. I see it the other way around: Start with what I want and then choose phone/OS. First, I want an MP3 player (or players), full function'd*, for huge library. I want a spreadsheet for data collecting with graphing capabilities. I want a paint program for diagrams, charting, dressing up graphs from scientific calculations. I want an HTML editor to make changes/updates to my Web sites,... I could go on and on. Android is so far from providing what I want, that I'm stuck with my outdated Vogue now in it's 3rd year, so available for upgrade, but there's no phone that can upgrade how well Vogue does what I need. Maybe WM7 will, but I doubt it because it requires a massive piece of equipment. Vogue is 4.0 oz light, but I'd rather have an even lighter phone, withOUT hardware keyboard.

*Some MP3 player functions I require:
(1) True gapless playback, i.e. no dead air
(2) UI with large song art AND playlist on same screen
(3) Player functions can map to hardware buttons such that while driving, it's possible to make adjustments by feel, without taking eyes off road.
(4) Left (of 5-way nav pad) press starts song over, another press starts previous track, AND press & hold rewinds 5 seconds so I can re-hear lyrics I didn't catch on 1st listen.
(5) Ability to search 15 gigs of songs and play a request or spur of the moment tune, leaving current playlist spot, to be returned to, after request plays - without messing up previous regular playlist rotation.

Again, I could go on and on, just with the MP3 player functions I want. WinMo gives me these NOW. Android bearly has any players at all other than basic functions with wow factor looks. I don't need fancy style, I need a work horse. That's WinMo on my Vogue, at least for now and the foreseeable future.
