Nice gift!
I don't know if the holder is close to the same design as what came with my phone---but I offer one potential warning. On mine the top clip kind of came down into the SD card slot--so whenever I pulled my phone out of it the SD card would literally pop out unbeknownst to me. Consciously lifting up on the clip would prevent this--but I spent a while a couple of times on my hands and knees searching for the card....
