This is what I got from Sprint's tech support:

"I can understand how frustrating it can be when your device does not function properly. Recently, YouTube changed some of the settings for mobile access. When this happened, the channels that the YouTube application used were no longer valid. This will be resolved in a ROM update for the device which should be available shortly. In the meantime, you can go to m.youtube.com on your device to watch YouTube."
