I can't quite figure out why, but I find those roms to be somewhat inferior to the older versions that used different kernels. They seem more sluggish and bogged down than ever, numerous issues and freeze ups, much the same as the oem upgrade. Hmmmm... The NRG phoenix utilizing 6.5.3 was more responsive than this new so called upgrade.
Just wondering what everybody else's thoughts were.
I've gone back to 6.1 for awhile to kinda let my tp2 reformat itself, shake off any old rom remnants, and I'm pretty amazed at how snappy it is. Yeah, there's no weather on the home screen. Don't care about that. It's running great, fast and no freeze ups.
I was just about to post a reply asking for other's opinions in speed of this new build.

It seems to me my opinion is vastly opposite, but we may have experienced different roms.
I am quite amazed as to the speed and responsiveness of Verizon's stock 6.5 compared to most roms and most definitely the stock 6.1. Most notably the manilla start menu has the smoothest scrolling of items i've ever seen on wm and i like how it instantaneously pops up and closes. Also the little task manager that they have usually took ages to pop up along with being very finicky, and now well, it seemed to have improved in responsiveness, though is still a bit oddly behaved. It scrolls the tabs ever so smoothly and the delay of loading them seem to have dramatically improved along with the 3d animations, they no longer lag as much. The builtin manila dialogs and settings respond quicker as well as the camera setting's. I just noticed all these within the first few minutes of installing it. Now to be honest, the only roms i've had were the stock verizon 6.1 and NRG's 21864 22.Oct.2009 12.32 StandardM2.5 rom, with NRG's improving marginally in speed but general responsiveness was much to be desired in the couple months i was using it. Only now have i had time to try out other roms and that all these roms have matured enough. Originally, I wasn't going to bother with verizon's rom feeling that it'll be a step backwards (reminiscent of 6700's and 6800's stock roms), but I just wanted to see what I might be missing out on. I got it tried it for a few minutes was impressed and then I installed a barrage of other roms which were all supported by comments of "...Fastest rom i've ever used..." as that was my criteria..
in the last couple days i've tried:
Malrom1.5 sense 2.5
malrom1.5b6 wm 6.5.3 sense 2.1
energyrom 23518 14jan2010 m2.5
mightyrom 011310

trying to remember how i felt.. all of this is pretty qualitative and opionated, i'd have to really look into them again to compare.. haven't slept and its 6 am... so a bit rambling
I would say Malrom was decently quick, and nice icons..
energyrom has a lot of features but was kinda slow
mightyrom has nice organization, and icons

I think what I'm trying to get to is, verizon's stock 6.5 rom is surprisingly quick, seemingly as fast if not faster than some custom roms, despite lacking features..

Though i'd love to know if there's anything faster is anyone could inform me
