I've had the Mogul for a couple weeks and have just processed an exchange for the touch. I thought that I could live with the issues that the mogul suffers but I just can't. Four main things are driving me a bit batty:
1) form factor - I'm just too used to having a small and light phone. the hard kb is great to have but I wish it was about a quarter of an inch thinner. It doesn't sit in my pocket well. Something that I could definitely get used to over time though
2) flimsy construction - the rear battery cover is so cheap and just generally the feel of the thing is kinda chintzy. After only a couple weeks of use the screen has developed a bit of play
3) stability - I'd do soft resets at least 4-5 times a day with the 2.09 ROM. Not that bad - but still pretty aggravating. However far too many times will the thing simply freeze up and slow down for no particular reason - the only solution being to reset it. The newested 2.17 ROM makes it even worse. I can hardly stand using it now - uninstalling and re-installing the X-button cab seems to have helped a bit but in the end it's a memory and ROM issue. I have to do soft resets pretty much every other time I pick the thing up. I'm not really even that intensive a user - I'm starting to understand why some people are so vehement about how poorly the thing runs with the current ROM. I thought a lot of people were going a bit overboard, but with people using the thing quite a bit and multi-tasking, I could see how it could drive someone absolutely nuts.
4) Bluetooth - related to the latter but seriously, why can't they figure out how to fix this so it works properly when the Tilt and Touch both seem to work fine in this function? I didn't think it would bug me as I don't use a headset or handsfree that often - but not having it work at all or very spotty at best bugs the crap out of me. Horrible signal noise on the receiver's end and low to no volume on my end. I have a fairly expensive handsfree bluetooth system in my car - I'd like to be able to use it...
I know that I will miss the hard kb - but using touchpal for a couple days on my mogul has helped me figure out how little I actually use the full qwerty keypad. The only time I actually really need the fully qwerty is when I'm inputting passwords. Otherwise for 90% of usage the touchpal keypad is actually as fast as using the full qwerty when I'm typing texts and such. It also gets better as you use touchpal as it will store often used or new words for later use.
