Re: How to "force" Diamond into "roam only?"

The Diamond manual had me go to phone, menu, options, services, highlite roaming, get settings - and there were only two options: Sprint and Automatic. There was no "Roaming Only" option.

Is there a way to get around this - to "force" the Diamond into roaming only so that there is great coverage most places?

Thanks, Sherry

Here's a link to the modified SwitchRoamMode CAB file by tok for the Touch Pro 2. This CAB works perfectly when installed to internal storage on my Sprint Diamond running an older but very snappy and stable TruXT 6.1 ROM. That said, switching to roaming only mode can take a minute, as the radio will need to change modes, and then search and lock onto the signal. Please note that your mileage may vary, due to your specific ROM and location.

Also, here's a link to the original switch to roaming mode program by pkuaioria for the Touch Pro.

Please note that I have only tested the CAB file in the first link above. Nonetheless, I'm fairly certain the original wm .exe program and two dll's by pkuaioria would work as intended on the Diamond as well. You would just need to add a folder in your program files folder of your internal storage or main memory, then move the .exe and dll's there, add a shortcut in your windows/start menu/programs folder, and soft reset.

Please give a big thanks to pkuaioria and tok if you find the program useful.

Best to all,
R
