Yeah, I have had this problem from time to time too. You think you do everything right and you either have 1 of 2 things that will happen, You will either get a white screen after the initial windows setup and then nothing else, or you just get the boot screen with no red writing and it sits there forever. It would be nice to know what some of the common issues are that would cause these.
