Using 0.89, I had nothing but failed attempts to share my EVDO connection via WiFi on a HTC Titan running Windows Mobile 6.1. At last, I created an ad-hoc network in Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi, gave it a generic name with no encryption, fired up WMWiFiRouter - almost-instant connection. 100kbit/s down, 1mbit/s up.
