"Double charging" on docking station... advantages? dangers?

I recently received a docking station for my Touch Pro 2. It's one of the ones that will dock the phone and also has a slot to charge a spare battery. It has two methods for charging. It came with a standard 5v AC adaptor with a mini USB end that connects to the back of the dock. It also has a standard-size USB cable permanently attached to the dock.

The USB is for charging and syncing to the computer, but can ONLY charge the phone, it will not charge the spare battery.

The AC adaptor can charge both the phone and spare battery, whether the regular USB is connected to a computer or not.

What I was thinking, and maybe this is stupid and/or useless... is what if I plug the AC adaptor in, and then also plug the standard USB in to the HTC AC adaptor... in other words, run the dock off of TWO 5v AC adaptors at the same time?

Any point in doing this? Am I gonna blow anything up?
