The advantage of having a exchange setup is more than just push e-mail. It also syncs multiple other things, calendars, contacts and so forth. Having it setup on a exchange is like a constant backup of your contact data and calendars. It is a little harder on the battery but having both ends in sync all the time is a pretty good feeling.

Just my 2 cents though.
