But as with any changes, why not use your SPB Backup and do an extra backup first? Whenever I'm making changes, I do an extra backup for the day, and just add an "a", "b", "c", etc., to the end of the backup filename (I do an extra backup after every few changes I make, so there can be several during a busy night of hacking). It makes any issues very easily, and incrementally, reversible. PIM Backup just won't cut the mustard for this purpose

Yea it's definitely safe and reversible. I messed around with it a few times (i.e. added a "," after the day etc.).
