The file in question is: 590ad244_manila

Steps:
1. Copy 590ad244_manila from your device's Windows directory with File Explorer (may not work), Resco Explorer, OR Total Commander.
2. Open it with Notepad.
3. Find this line:<trans-unit id="IDS_DATEFORMAT">
MMM d, yyyy
4. Change it to whatever you want. MMMM = Full month, YY = 2 digit year, DDD = full day. So, DDD, MMMM d, yyyy would give you Sat, October 17, 2009, and DDDD, MMM d, yy would give you Saturday, Oct 17, 09; etc.
5. Save the file. (it's read only so you will have to make it writable by right clicking the file, going to properties, then unchecking the read-only attribute)
Optional two steps (one of the two is required):
6. Disable TF3D by going into settings>today>items>uncheck TouchFLO 3d
6b. Copy back to device replacing the one in Windows
6c. Re-enable TF3D
OR
6. Copy back to device replacing the one in Windows
6b. Soft-reset device.
FYI DDD does not = day, but ddd = first 3 letters of the day. But thanks, I made the changes to that manila file in Manila 2.1 and now it works. Displaying "Thu, Jan 7, 2010"
