Because in the meantime all texts you recieve will be stamped with 2016 and all the ones you send will be stamped correctly. This causes texts to be out of order. All of your recieved texts will be at the end of the conversation no matter what. It isn't a big issue if you (like me) do not text a lot. However, for those people that send texts none stop it can be quite annoying.
