I have done some searching on the internet for this so I know there are a bunch of program out there, and actually there are really almost to many.

So I was kinda hoping there might be a accepted standard or best of the best as there typically is for so many other programs.

It's kind of a cheat to do it this way, but works exactly how you want. Once you enter the password, you can browse & open the files just like in File Explorer. But whatever way you want.
