I understand location is a major factor. But it would seem to me that the type of network has to play at least some role in all this as well.

Because of the spread spectrum tech employed by CDMA, it can in theory support more users per cell than it's TDMA counterpart correct?

Or, perhaps any advantages that one network may have over the other are diminished so much so by factors like location, interference, number of towers, etc., that it really does become a moot point?

I may be way off base here as I have only just finished my first semester of 'data comm' in which we very briefly touched on wireless network tech. Hope to go into it more in depth this next semester though as I find it to be a really fascinating subject.

I appreciate any input on this as I try to wrap my poor little brain around it.
