With a bit of research, a little reading, and flashing a good rom (such as fresh 1.1) You shouldn't have the issues your experiencing.
Just like the diamond you and I used to use, this device has come a long way (from stock) by means of flipz and co. in a very very short amount of time. Absolutely love this device, for the very reasons posted above.
