First off, I can't believe this thread went so many page with ppl debating if GSM gets more phones or not. That is a fact. NO DEBATE. I know most phones in the past did not have 3g if you were getting phones internationally, so that benefit doesn't appeal to me at all.
And nobody mentioned CDMA 2 which will allow simultaneous voice and data. I read about it last yr. Think we will ever see it?

TRUE STORY. I tell everybody if you want games and apps, Iphone is taking over the world. Even for small business they have 2 credit card swiping devices now Pretty nifty.

Good point. I went to a Carol of Lights in December. I had my gloves on along with most other ppl. I'd actually rather have a resistive screen than a capacitive screen after that night. I was able to respond to texts by pulling out my stylus(gloves on and typing was too hard). I'd been SOL like the Iphone users who either froze their hands or just didn' respond to texts. My friend next to me screened texts b4 she would decide to take off her glove and respond.
Also, people are mentioning that swype would negate the need for a hard keyboard. I'm not sure how that will work since capacitive screens are less accurate than resistive screens....I know HD2 users are usng swype so I guess it works, but I was just thinking that isn't swyping just like handwriting? And capacitive screens don't have handwriting recognition b/c it's less accurate. Again, would have to look into this more.

My friends who have had Sprint said it was terrible. They switched to AT&T and said it was much better. Doesn't make sense. But that's STILL just personal experience. There still is no proof that a network is better besides with coverage. Apparently you've never taken a Research Methods course and found out how worthless Case Study Designs are.

I was going to agree with you and say that word of mouth can even be better than all these "studies". Then, I saw your last sentence and just grinned. Any study can be manipulated to get the most favorable results that the observer wants. FACT.

I know from first hand experience on numerous road trips that my Sprint Service is superior to ATT's in rural areas in TX. That's my experience. On the TP1, if I didn't have service I could do the force roaming trick and find service from Verizon. That would almost always ensure I had service.
I'm in Lubbock. We just launched EVDO last month on Sprint-FINALLY. But during the last two years I have forced roaming on my TP1 to Alltel/Verizon's service to surf on EVDO. So you can roam with DATA and get EVDO. When I switched to the TP2 the force roaming regedits did not work(probably due to the addition of the SIM card and we're missing some necessary reg edis).

The Iphone just has graphical transitions that makes it seem like the program is fully loaded b4 it is. I think speeds of the 3gs and TP2 are bout the same. The 3g Iphone is a snail.
