Re: text messages from the future Y2KX issue

Using the PIM Backup tool I was able to fix the 2016 date stamp on all of my old messages by doing the following:

1: Select backup on the PIM Backup tool (Make sure that the messages box is selected) and then hit next..
2: The only 2 check boxes that i have selected are create temp files in memory and Compress backup (**NOTE** Make sure that "Binary backup (faster)" is NOT selected otherwise the remaining steps will not work), then select next which will start the backup procedure
4: After this completes copy the ".pib" file that is created to your computer
and open it using winrar
5: You should see a file "msgs_20100102.csm, extract this file to your desktop and open this file using wordpad and use the replace command to find 2016 and replace which 2010
6: Save the file (with the same ext .csm)
7: Using winrar (which should still be opened with the .pib file) drag the newly saved .csm file from your desktop into the open window which will overwrite the original .csm file
8: close winrar and copy the .pib file back on to your phone
9: At this point i went into my messages and deleted everything
10: Lastly run the PIM Backup tool but now select restore using the modified .pib

All of the messages should now have the correct date, if you have a service like microsoft myphone i would move all of the 2016 files into the archive or delete them, I'm not sure what will happen when it tries to re sync "i have a feeling it will put them back on the phone"

This was done using the latest MightyROM official update, on a Sprint TP2

Just saw ziggy471 mentioned this technique earlier today under the sticky thread for this topic sorry i missed it
