i tested my phone by sending various text messages to it, and the phone with and without PS on, would light up (wake) as if it receieved the msg, but no notification sound/light.

i enabled sounds/light here: Start > Settings > Sounds and notifications > Notifications
i also checked HKLM -> Drivers -> Builtin -> RIL -> DisableSMSWakeUpEvent -> set to 0

Having the same issue! Uninstalled PS and it remains, have to "wake up" the phone to get a text. Dunno what to do.
