Re: TomTom Nav 7 available in US?

I got the following from TomTom:

"We do understand your interest in the Navigator 7 software which is available in the Europe. We do need to inform you that this software of Navigator isn't available in the US which won't be offered. You won't be able to purchase the software via the UK web shop due to it's only exclusive for our European customers which in order to buy, you must have a European address. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you."

BTW- It is possible to buy the Europe version of TomTom - it's just a matter of paying the shipping.

I wound up buying the US version of Garmin Mobile XT. It looks like they have a Europe version too. They also have something called Garmin Mobile PC (US & Europe) which is designed to run on a notebook. (I tried using a notebook PC a couple of years ago with Microsoft AutoRoute and it didn't really work that well - the bigger screen was great but having to keep turning to the passenger seat felt pretty dangerous.)

I wish Google would make their product work on non-Android phones...
