As smartphones get more & more powerful (i.e., more akin to mini-computers [they kinda are already]), there will most certainly come a day when I live & die by AV software running on mine.
I can understand that we all want out phones to be snappy as possible, and the idea of AV SW hogging our CPU Cycles stinks, but the writing is certainly on the wall. I suppose the extent to which we input or render available "sensitive" information (e.g., online banking, Japanese Robot Porn, etc.) will impact individual need or desire to so employ these AV Progies.
I've been thinking about AV SW a lot lately, and this thread woke this issue up again for me.
Anyhow, thanks to everyone for posting their opinions. Now, it's time to find that Optimus Prime video with that female Decepticon... FTW!
