The issue that MaxManila has, is not the same. MaxManila's issue stems from the use of the Backround for All mods that are around(you can tell it uses it by the white square that appears just before the Home screen appears upon bootup). I'm not sure how these mods accomplish it's task of putting the backround on all tabs, but whatever they do, they slow not only ALL the weather animations(not just specific ones) but also the flipping action of the clock. If you wanna test it, grab one of these mods and install it on a fresh manila 2.5 and see what happens.
The only way I have found to not slow the animations and still get the same background in all tabs is to use HDWalls instead of the background for all mod.
I have made myself a version without and it seems much more responsive without it.
At this point, unless the Background for All mods are redone, I think the only way for MaxManila to not have the issue is possibly have a version that does not include any Background for All type mods in it and let the user deal with setting their own backgrounds.
FYI, JMorton10 was the one who found all this out and was the one that informed me about the background for all mods slowing things down..

My feelings about it, exactly! Definitely some great ideas included, but the cooked in BG4all is definitely the biggest deal breaker for me. It definitely impacts the performance. The animations became slideshows practically and scrolling all around in Manila, was sluggish with MaxManila installed on my device. Hopefully things will get better in the next version.
I modified it to install without BG4all just to see and noticed a definite improvement in responsiveness.
However, I wanted to also say, that all the hard work Bignadad has been putting into these projects is quite impressive. So, Thanks Bignadad for all your hard work and efforts. It's greatly appreciated by many, I'm sure. Keep up the good work bud!
