i'm running the reverse right now. a maxmanila rom with dusk added with the green cabs (although the icons at the top aren't all skinned and i still have the leo icons at the bottom). i like the looks of what i have but i wasn't certain if i was missing some cool skins by doing it the way i did.
am i making any sense?

Yeah, your making sense..... i just downloaded the new 28014 and i had the 28011 before that... both with DUSK cooked in.
I WOULD RECOMMEND COOKING WITH DUSK IN, NOT MAXMANILA!
BUT if you do not want the dusk theme, then EnergyROM with MaxManila would be good for you.
MaxManila just recreates your home screen. Dusk them is ALL OVER PHONE. taskbar, dialer, manila, etc....... it is a good idea to use the Dusk theme, then install MaxManila..
i have created this thread with combines both and looks like this
{MaxDusk v0.2} EnergyROM 6.5.3 + MaxManila + Dusk = WOW
But the answer to your original question is yes you can install MaxManila over Dusk without messing anything up. BUT i would not recommend the other way around....
