Re: Why Arent There Loads Of Free Apps Like Android & iPhone App Stores?
Windows Mobile has stood the test of time. It has been around for 13 years now, versus iphone & android being, what- 2 years old? Devs are writing more apps for the latter two right now because they're fresh & new, and it's easy to capitalize on their popularity at the moment. Yes, WM may not have a T-Pain app or a dedicated Starbucks finder or 20 different fart apps, but it still has way more apps than iphone & android combined. And most of them are free.
Everytime I hear the old "app store" argument I am baffled. How is it that it can be SUCH an inconvenience to some people to have to do some very light searching to find an app? Are you really that lazy that you need everything arranged in a neat little app store? If so, then by all means get an iPhone or Droid & quit bitching. Sorry if I sound harsh but its such a silly thing to bash WM about. It's like having a turboed car & whining cause you have to find a gas station that carries 91.
Lastly- there IS a distinct learning curve for WinMo. Too many people buy these devices thinking they work just like their old razr & end up overwhelmed & disappointed. Even *I* found myself lost the first time I picked up a WM device. The phone companies don't help either, advertising pretty interfaces & TV/Music services, and saying nothing about the registry or ram management. If people would just do their research before buying, maybe we'd see less iPhone & blackberry defections.
