Re: Why Arent There Loads Of Free Apps Like Android & iPhone App Stores?
Two words... free tethering. I'm completely fine dealing with some inconvenience with finding apps for WM if I can connect my laptop or netbook at ANY time for free. Thats were the real connected experience is still at.
Because of the lack of hype, WM devices fly under the radar which is fine by me. Wanna use Skype on Android? Fine, it makes it call you and use your carrier's plan minutes. Wanna use Skype on WM? no problem, it uses data only and you truly do get around using your minutes.
Not to mention that you can travel internationally and have the above two features work seamlessly with the TP2. Android, not an option... Iphone? nope.
Being able to fire up Skype wherever I am in the world, and call back home with unlimited minutes is worth more than ANY app store. If WM mobiles were marketed as suggested, we would not be under the radar and everything would be locked. (And I know you can jailbreak etc, but with WM its not necessary at all)
