Actually, you don't need to downgrade your PRI if you are going to use Agps which stands for assisted gps. Normally , this is the type of gps most users prefer because you get faster locks . You only need to downgrade your PRI if you are going to use standalone gps WITHOUT Agps. This is the point of this thread.

If you decide you want standalone gps then the guide in the original post of this thread is exactly what you should follow.

It's like they say, "To Each His Own."
Agps may not be for everyone. That's why standalone gps is a great option.
