The screen really isn't as scratch-sensitive as people seem to think. I beat the heck out of my 6700 and finally got a scratch on the screen about a year into owning it -- and since I replace my phones at least once a year, it worked out perfectly.

The Touch's screen seems like it would be a lot harder to scratch than either of the other two. I've put all of my phones in my pocket with keys, lighters, etc., and never had a problem.

I tried the protector that came with the Touch and I just got annoyed beyond belief. It was gone in less than 2 hours. The only thing that sometimes makes me want to have a screen protector is the sun... but I'm very rarely in a sunny situation that would require it so that's a moot point for me too.
Remind me not to buy a used phone from you

Maybe you don't have the technique of getting it on right because I have zero issues with my stock one. It works perfectly while on there, you'd never know it's there. I don't use a case and think it's a must have. There is a little air under some of the very edges. But it has not lifted or got lint or anything under it. Even if only for resale.
