Unhappy Re: Porting Iphone Apps to Windows Mobile

Porting an app from the iPhone to Windows Mobile would require the source code which in the case of Iphone apps are largely proprietary, so the author would need to feel that the profit in doing so would be worth the programming effort which in the case of Windows mobile market share and trouble porting to so many varied devices is unlikely. The reason the iPhone has attracted so many developers is the fact that the iPhone has such a large market share and you can be sure that the app will run on all iPhones as the hardware and software is tightly controlled by Apple. In contrast Windows Mobile runs on a wide variety of hardware platforms with different processors, screen sizes and a whole host of other variables that make development a bit more complex.
