GSensor irritation

I've been using PocketShield to keep my screen off when it's supposed to, avoid pocket dialing etc.

Once in a while, perhaps once a day, I'll notice it won't unlock via gesture. Further checking and I notice nothing responds to the GSensor. Finally I'll load up Teeter to test and note that the ball will lock on one corner of the maze, regardless of the device's orientation. The only way I know to reset the GSensor is to soft reset.

Does anyone know another method to reset it? I view this glitch as something like toggling airplane mode to fix a quirky data connection. I'm looking for a similar method to reset, or perhaps if anyone knows a cause?

Thanks.
