I am working with a couple people on making a new recovery image, which hopefully we will have by the end of the weekend.

A few things come to mind about this issue. From what I hear cyan only roots HTC's. This almost smells like he's sucking up to google ( possibly for a job?) and since the moto doesn't effect him he's turned it in....why else would some one do what he did?
Second of all it is defiantly a bug and could be exploited maliciously...as in an OTA virus. Again, not that I really care but it seems the "real" hackers aren't too interested in anything that isn't HTC....
