Found this way worked for me easiest... thanks to Kykiskly over at XDA

put the recovery image on root of SD card, and from cmd prompt


"adb shell"
"su"
"cd /sdcard/"
"flash_image recovery recovery-RA-heroc-v1.5.1.img"
"reboot recovery"
