What carrier are you with and what MMS program are you trying to download? I'm not sure if the cooked in programs are the same with 2.1 and 2.5, but Arcsoft comes installed on the 2.5 rom. Maybe the new download is conflicting with the currently installed arcsoft. It also might be carrier related from what I've read.

Same here, the only issue I have is when replying to a text, I tap the screen to bring up the cursor and nothing happens. Then if you hit the menu icon and then close options and then tap the screen it will come up, rarely does it just work on its own.
