After you installed iDialer, all you need is to remap one of the softkeys OR one of the hard keys to iDialer...then its pretty much one touch and dial.
If you want a quicker way to contacts..you can use the iDialer's companion program iContact...same thing...map it and you're ready to go!

Just as an extra tip, iDialer & iContacts can integrate with Google Voice. That's all I use 'em for, but it works well.
