Re: New bing mobile
As far as I'm concerned, they just broke Bing.
Ever since I realized I could use my voice to input the destination instead of fidgeting with typing on a traditional GPS system, Bing has become my primary in-dash GPS navigation system.
Sure, it doesn't speak turn-by-turn like some *other* navigators, but it does give audible alerts (mostly beeps and chimes), and shows you how long until the next turn on maps that are always up to date. In my opinion, the turn-by-turn navigation mixed with voice recognition is the sole reason Bing was worth having on *EVERY* Windows Phone. The interface was honestly kind of frustrating, but the features made it worth using.
Well, it looks like MS fixed the one thing wrong with it- the UI- but removed the only reasons I wanted to use it!
Where's my GPS-driven turn-by-turn routing? Where's my recently searched items (I have to enter my address every time unless I save it as a favorite? WTF?!)?
This version is a great big FAIL.
I'd rather use Google Maps than this. And for GPS routing, I'll have to either go back to the old version or buy something like TomTom or iGo
