Thumbs up Re: (Sprint) - GPS Issues

My story.
HTC Touch Pro 2 Sprint - everything plan.
About a month ago GPS stopped working after 'update' from Sprint!
Called tech support to no avail. Went into Sprint store about a week later - no dice after they were on the phone with tech support for 45 mins. They wanted a hard reset.
With all the apps and settings I have that is not an option I was looking forward to, to say the least.
I tried the solutions mentioned here:
Guy said, :I think I have fixed the issue thanks to these threads":

Seems this issue is not limited to the Treo Pro. Here is what worked for me. I downloaded the xtra.bin file from this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=92926&page=6 (post 59) and the program FileDate.exe from this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=93131&page=10 (post 92). I extracted the xtra.bin file to my desktop and changed the created, modified, and accessed dates to today using Filedate.exe.

I then backed up the xtra.bin file from My Device\Windows just in case I needed it to some other folder on my laptop. I then copied the modified xtra.bin file from my desktop to My Device\Windows and My Device\Temp folders. Then I started QuickGPS and went to Menu\Options and unchecked all boxes and then soft reset. Since then, even after several soft resets.

That didn't work either!
So after a week more of searching with out a working solution I bit the bullet again.
So hard reset, profile update, prl update and STILL didn't work!
Put it off for while and started searching in earnest again for the last week. and came across this solution mention here.

I did Parts A and Part B.
I did the following (via xda thread)

(Tested & provided by DGH)
A. With Advanced config nel menu GPS
disable A-GPS
disable GPS logging
logfile name must be empty
old logfile name must be empty
maximum size of logfile must be 0
delete the files :
\windows\GPSLogFile.txt and \windows\GPSLogFileBack.txt

With those changes car usage will be quite perfect

B. Then edit registry
Under: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\GPS Intermediate Driver\
Drivers\GpsOneDevice\PollInterval -> 100 (default is 1000)
Drivers\InputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096)
Drivers\OutputBufferSize -> 512 (default is 4096)
Drivers\SleepOnNoData -> 100 (default is 1000)
Multiplexer\MaxBufferSize -> 512 (by default not present, you have to create it)
With those tweaks pedestrian usage will be much better but not perfect.
I already had Advanced Config, and CERegedit installed so it was easy to follow the steps.

AND IT FLIPPIN WORKS!!!
Great help guys.
As mentioned though you MUST delete the log and log.bak files.
I am now off to lot's of traveling and have a working GPS again. Yay!Thanks again to all the PPCGeeks and XDADev folks!!
